 About JetBrains

JetBrains was founded in Prague in 2000 by three Russian software developers, Sergey Dmitriev, Valentin Kipyatkov, and Eugene Belyaev. JetBrains was originally known as IntelliJ Software. JetBrains' first product was IntelliJ Renamer, a Java code refactoring tool which was launched in year 2001. The main objective of JetBrains is to assist developers in working more efficiently by automating simple, repetitive tasks, allowing them to concentrate on code design and the big picture. It provide tools to help you discover and familiarize developers with code bases more quickly. JetBrains products make it simple for developers to maintain quality during the development process and spend less time on maintenance tasks.



IntelliJ IDEA

Intellij IDEA was the first development tool designed by jetBrains. The first version of IntelliJ IDEA was announced in January 2001 and it was one of the first Java IDEs to provide advanced code navigation and refactoring capabilities. IntelliJ IDEA is written by using two main programming languages such as Java and Kotin. This IDE is compatible with a variety of operating systems, including Windows, MacOS, and Linux. According to a 2010 InfoWorld survey, IntelliJ scored the highest test center score out of the four top Java programming tools: Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, NetBeans, and JDeveloper.

IntelliJ supports plugins, Plugins can be downloaded and installed using IntelliJ's plugin repository website or the IDE's built-in plugin search and install function. Each edition has its own plugin repository as of 2019, with the Community and Ultimate editions each having over 3000 plugins. This IDE works with version control systems like Git, Mercurial, Perforce, and SVN. Via an embedded version of DataGrip, databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQLite, and MySQL can be accessed directly from the IDE in the Ultimate edition.
